BIOGRAPHY

Lori EnckeWithout my photos and journals, my past would be forgotten.

Capturing my life through photos and stories has always been a hobby of mine. Since I was a little girl, I have always kept an accurate journal and account of the events in my life. With my first 110 film camera in hand, I would snap photos at every event.

In 2002, I went on my first trip out of the country with an educational tour group to London, England. The sites and architecture of this country amazed me so much that I wanted to take pictures of everything. It was what truly started to inspire me. I was fascinated with the angles, design, the color of the landscape, and buildings. When I returned from the trip, I had to turn in a photographic journal as my assignment for my college class that I traveled with. I fell in love with the process of professionally preparing an album and started getting into scrap booking for the main events in my life. I soon found that scrap booking was extremely time consuming and was soon introduced to the world of digital book making. As a high school technology teacher, I immediately adapted to this new process. With the use of digital cameras, the ease of this process was not only cheaper, but less time consuming and still allowed my love of creativity and technology to shine through.

I started traveling more and when I returned from a trip, I would document my experience by making an album in less then a weeks time. I no longer had boxes full of pictures that just sat there collecting dust, but I was creating a forever lasting memory of my favorite moments that could be placed into one book that fit easily on my book shelf. Friends and family could easily view and read about the most memorable moments in my life. Because of my love for the preserving process, I started to really enjoy the photography aspect even more because I wanted my albums to look even better. I started investing in higher quality cameras and starting practicing photography techniques. I read the manuals and practiced, practiced, practiced. Just taking pictures of flowers in my yard became exciting for me.

I started receiving compliments on my photography by those around me and was eventually referred to colleagues. What was once just a hobby has become something that I love to do and share with others. I bring my camera everywhere I know that there will be a special moment that I can capture. I have helped to create and capture many special moments such as weddings, the history of a school, the biography of a sons life through the eyes of a mother, the story of two people falling in love, vacation experiences, and much more. I truly enjoy helping others to capture and share the important moments in their lives and aiding in preserving their memories forever.
